Are you involved in a sports club?
If so, can you help us make sport a safer place for children and young people? ‘Safeguarding in Sport’ are looking for sports clubs volunteers to help them to pilot the Standards for Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport and would very much appreciate your help!

Safeguarding in Sport are the Safeguarding in Sport Service, a partnership between Children 1st and sportscotland, and have developed the standards as a framework to help make sport safer for children and young people.

What is the aim of the pilot?
The pilot will help us to find out: what sports clubs think about the standards, if they are achievable, and how best clubs can be supported to put the standards in place. This will ultimately help us get the framework and support right for sports clubs, helping to make sport a safer place for children and young people.

What does getting involved mean?
The information leaflet provides you with everything you need to know about getting involved as well as more information about the standards.

We are really just asking you to complete a checklist of questions followed by a short survey on what you thought about them.

The more clubs that we can involve in completing the checklist and survey, the better the support will be to protect children and young people in sport.

The closing date for completing the checklist and survey is 28 June 2019.

Thanks for reading and we hope you can get involved!
With best wishes,
