Cleuchhead near Brydekirk offers excellent fly-fishing all year round.

There are over nine named pools on this two mile double bank beat, which are available for parties of up to six plus one rod that the owner retains for his own use.

Fished as two beats in daily rotation, 3 rods per beat rotating at 1p.m. each day (see booking conditions).

Anglers must agree rotation prior to commencing fishing.

Most of the pools are very streamy which ensures that they fish well at most heights of water and hold fish well. As the beat is only a couple of miles above the tide the majority of the fish caught will be very fresh.

The salmon fishing will be first class, given water, from August onwards with September, October and November normally the peak months. During 2004 over 300 salmon were recorded on this beat. The very abundant sea trout can be caught from May onwards with June and July the peak.
