Magiscroft Fishery
The original Coarse Fishery Magiscrodt is famous for it’s friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and great sport. Plenty of carp, roach, bream and pike.
On site you also have access to the tackle shop with bait, and tackle on sale as well as access to toilets and a vending machine with tea and coffee. Magiscroft has a great family atmosphere in summer time and warmer days they have access to a picnic & play area.
With respect of fishing this is an angler’s haven with over 150 pegs spread across seven well-stocked waters, designed by fellow coarse anglers for the ultimate fishing experience. Each water boasts its own unique charm, ensuring there’s a perfect match for every angler!
🐟 Main Loch: The largest water with 51 comfortable pegs, renowned for its impressive specimens, including Carp up to 20lb, Roach, Bream, Tench, Perch, Rudd & Gudgeon. Pike fishing is permitted during select winter months. Depths vary, ranging from shallow edges to 6ft-15ft on long pole lines, reaching 15ft-18ft in the middle.
🏝️ Island Pond: With 30 pegs and abundant stocks of Carp (up to 10lb), this water also houses Ide, Roach, Perch, Rudd, Chub, Tench, Barbel, and Gudgeon. Depths are relatively consistent, gradually sloping from 5ft at the car park end to 3ft at the far end.
🎣 Top Pond: Highly accessible with a comfortable path and 20 pegs, this water boasts ample Carp, alongside Bream, Ide, Chub, Roach, Perch, and Tench. Depths are relatively consistent, gradually shallowing from 5ft at the west end to 3ft at the east end.
🌳 Woodside Pond: Nestled in the woods, this secluded corner near the Island Pond holds 23 pegs and features Carp, Bream, Ide, Chub, Roach, Perch, and Tench. Depths mirror those of the Island Pond.
🌿 Birch Ponds: Two smaller, tranquil ponds tucked amidst Birch trees on the North side, brimming with Carp and various species like the other ponds. The larger pond has 12 pegs (5 double pegs ideal for “dads ‘n lads”), and the smaller pond has 5 double pegs.
🚂 Railway Pond: Serene and secluded, this water boasts 10 pegs and offers great Carp fishing along with various species, particularly renowned for its big Tench. Depths range from 3ft to 4ft around the Island and reach 8ft in the deeper middle area.
