The double bank fishing on Portnacraig and Pitlochry beats produces some of the best spring salmon fishing on the Tay/Tummel system.
Fresh fish can be encountered from opening day on January 15 and the spring run peaks during April and May. July and August are best for grilse and summer salmon.
The beat extends from clear marker posts about 100 metres from the face of the dam downstream for about 1 km to Aldour Bridge.
A maximum of six anglers are allowed, three on each bank, which rotate at 12.30 each day. The beat that you book is the bank on which you must start on and vacate at 12:30.
Fishing for day permit holders finishes at 5pm.
Anglers must comply with the Club Rules for the beats, Conservation Policy and Safety Advice .
