The beat comprises of 1.5 miles, both banks with seven named pools in which wading is generally good and is excellent fly water. There is no gillie on the beat.

The beat fishes exceptionally well for  salmon and grilse with the bulk of these fish being caught before the end of July. It is particularly pleasing to have really good sport with grilse in the early summer.

The Tay district Salmon Fisheries Board is promoting a voluntary catch and release programme for multi-sea winter fish which is strongly commended.
