Scotland will bring together the voice, the administration and the memberships of the Scottish Anglers National Association Limited, Scottish Federation for Coarse Angling and Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers from our base in Kinross, Fife.
Angling, in all its forms, is the largest participation sport in Scotland with an estimated 250,000 participants enjoying a lifetime of engagement. Angling is ideally suited to the Scottish landscape, has a key role to play in developing an active, healthy population and is economically important, not least to the tourism industry. The discipline governing bodies offer pathways from grass roots introduction to world championship level competition.
Sound and effective governance, particularly in the areas of management and communications, are crucial to the success of the new organisation. Work with other essential stakeholders to establish a national structure to support the growth of angling participation is also key. The role offers both brand new challenges and the chance to maximise the potential of some excellent programmes already in existence.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Operations Manager will play a key role in launching Angling Scotland Ltd and establishing it’s voice in the sporting landscape.
