The Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers, in association with SALC, Home Nations Fishing Event was a memorable one despite the challenging conditions.
The winds were strong, and the fishing conditions were far from ideal. Fishing took place at Elliot Beach and Riverside Drive, with anglers catching a variety of species throughout the event.
Over 600 fish were caught, showcasing the skill and determination of all the anglers from the four nations Scotland, Ireland, England and Wales who were fishing to win right until the end.
The competition was fierce with no clear winner emerging until the final moments.
In the Gents Seniors category, it was a tie on points, leading to an exciting fish count to determine the winner. Ireland emerged victorious in this nail-biting finish.
Among the fish caught were dabs, flounder, and even a remarkable 56cm bass, making it a truly unforgettable event.
In the ladies category, Ireland clinched gold, marking a significant achievement and adding to their impressive haul of trophies.
Ireland will undoubtedly be thrilled with their success, having also triumphed in the Gents Seniors category.
The trophies and medals, totaling 160 quality awards, were presented to all the competitors by Alison Baker, Chair for Angling Scotland.
